Rather than moving from town to town, travellers are more likely to spend a few days in one location to avoid spending excessive cash on fuel.

But it doesn’t have to be all end all.

Queensland

The Berry Springs Nature Reserve is a hidden gem tucked a quick 40 minute drive away from Darwin.

This water hole is surrounded by rich, dense bushland and offers a distinctive NT experience.

It’s a great place to socialise, have a picnic and relax with friends.

If you find yourself at the reserve between March and April, you may very well find a native flower that blooms only once a year.
